Speaker: Stanley Stowers (Professor Emeritus of Religious Studies, Brown University)
Professor Emeritus Stanley Stowers specializes in the areas of early Christian history and literature, Hellenistic philosophy, Mediterranean religion, and theory and method in the study of religion. He has authored A Rereading of Romans: Justice, Jews, and Gentiles; Letter Writing in Greco-Roman Antiquity; The Diatribe and Paul’s Letter to the Romans and has published more than thirty articles and book chapters. He has received fellowships from the Woodrow Wilson Center and the National Endowment for the Humanities, as well as international grants and teaching opportunities.
